I am San's Child. I was raised to be self-respecting, God-fearing, strong, determined, courageous, respectful of adults and elders, trustworthy, honest, confident, disciplined, inquisitive, grateful, happy, intelligent, self-controlled, as well as a plethora of other characteristics. I was challenged to give my best, do my best and be my best in ALL situations.
Dr. Taura M. Turner
Dr. Taura Marie Turner is the eldest daughter of Sandra Marie Hunt. Born and raised in Memphis, TN. Taura has a passion for helping children in general, but particularly girls to reach for and achieve their dreams by using their God given talents! Dr. Turner is the Marketing, Media and STEM Advisor for the local school system.
In her spare time, Taura loves to read and write inspirational books and write poems, plays, short stories, and novels. Her first book, “Sleeping with the Lights On…A Treasury of Grandma’s Wisdom” was published in 2005. She has just completed her second book, “Laid to Rest”.
In 2011, with over 20 years of experience in marketing and 10 years experience in education, Taura launched San’s Child, named in memory of her mother, which caters to the needs of girls between the ages of 7 and 17. San’s Child has made an impact in the community as Taura has spoken at various Women’s Conferences and Retreats, Youth Programs, Workshops and Seminars. Her focus is to illuminate the effects of aggression and bullying among young ladies. In the summer of 2014, Taura launched the first annual San's Child Summer Program for girls. With her goal of promoting awareness of the huge impact that bullying has on the victim, the aggressor and society as a whole, Taura is reaching girls, one workshop at a time! Ultimately Taura's main goal is to SAVE OUR SISTERS (SOS)!
Miss Tiayra S. Branch
Tiayra Branch is the youngest daughter of Sandra Marie Hunt. Tiayra is a graduate of University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattannoga, TN. Quiet and reserved, Tiayra seeks to help those who have struggled with childhood disabilities and autistic behaviors. She has volunteered with several organizations to assist those who suffer with the debilitating effects of autism.
Tiayra is currently pursuing her Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology and plans to become a partner in San's Child. With a passion for helping younger girls, Tiayra is completing her CDA in hopes of opening a day care, San's Child Academy, for children ranging in ages from 5 months to 5 years.
In her spare time, Tiayra likes to read all varieties of books, from inspirational to fiction and in between, and spend time with family and friends.
Partnering with Taura in the coming years, this dynamic duo will use a combination of passion, compassion, education and psychology to Save our Sisters!
